Back Pain Advice.

You have been treated for Back Pain. You have been thoroughly examined and are now considered fit to be discharged. the following will aid your recovery.

Back Pain Advice

Back pain is very common and normally improves within a few weeks or months.

Most back pain isn’t anything serious and will get better over time.

There are things you can do to help, but sometimes the pain can last a long time or keep coming back.

How to relieve back pain

Stay as active as possible
Try exercises and stretches; walking, swimming, yoga and pilates
Painkillers – talk to your pharmacist
Hot or cold compression packs
It helps if you stay optimistic and recognise that your pain should get better

When to get immediate medical advice:

Numbness or tingling around your genitals or buttocks
Difficulty peeing
Loss of bladder or bowel control
High temperature
Unexplained weight loss

Back pain usually gets better on its own within a few weeks or months.

it’s a good idea to get help if:

The pain doesn’t start to improve within a few weeks
You are worried about the pain or are struggling to cope
