Your child has been treated and is being discharged with some medicine to stop them from being in pain. The following instructions will aid their recovery.
- Your child has been discharged with some medicine to stop them from being in pain.
- It is important that you give this medicine to your child regularly to stop their pain coming back.
- If the Doctor has advised you to give more than one painkilling medicine to your child, it is fine to give them both and won’t cause your child any harm.
- If your child has been given any other medicines such as antibiotics it is important that you give these as well as the pain medicines.
- If we have asked you to come back and see us again for example to have a dressing changed; please give your child a dose of pain medicine 30 minutes before you come to the hospital.

- Please refer to the manufacturer’s instructions or labelling for dosages on medicines for your child.
