It is very important not to take more than the recommended dose of paracetamol. While taking this drug do not take any other preparations containing paracetamol. This includes many preparations you can buy from your supermarket and chemist as well as your GP, therefore always check. If you take too much paracetamol, this may damage your liver. Very rarely, people taking this drug get a skin rash. If this happens to you, stop taking the drug and tell your GP.

Information about your drug treatment

Make sure your doctor is aware of all the medicines you take before any new drug is started.

While taking this drug:

– You may drive as usual or drink moderate amounts of alcohol.

– If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember.

You may need specific advice during pregnancy. Please ask.

The names used for your drugs in this leaflet are their ‘proper names’. These are the same as on the medicine bottles that the hospital has given you. Your GP or chemist may give you the same tablets known by different names – the ‘brand name’.
