Do not use whole ice-cubes. If you want to use proper ice, you must crush it first! It is easier and less messy to use a packet of frozen peas! Mark them as an ice-pack and keep re-freezing them to re-use them. Do not then eat them!!

Wrap packet of frozen peas/crushed ice in a damp tea‑towel. Never put ice straight on to your skin as it can burn.
Apply this to the area which is to be treated. You can wrap a towel around the affected part and the ice-pack to keep it in place.
If you feel a painful burning sensation remove ice immediately, otherwise leave ice-pack in position for 15–20 minutes before removing. If you are using frozen peas, put them back in the freezer ready for the next time.
Use the ice-pack 3–4 times per day unless otherwise directed.
