Although it is unlikely to cause any symptoms itself, if you have high blood pressure all the time it increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Therefore it is important that your blood pressure is checked again soon.

We recommend that you make an appointment to see your practice nurse to have your blood pressure rechecked in the next few weeks.

If your blood pressure is still high you may be given advice about things that you can do yourself to make it lower, or your doctor may want to start you on treatment.
