Following your attendance at the emergency department your healthcare professional has given you management advice to help your recovery from your injury.
Soft tissue injuries are very common and are associated with pain, bruising and swelling over the affected area of the body.
Pain usually resolves within 6 weeks but in some cases it may take several months to become pain free. You should notice some improvement in the first 2 weeks. In some cases further assessment and treatment will be needed.
You have been given this leaflet to allow you to access the Therapy Trauma Clinic (TTC) that will provide you with any further treatment you may require.
There are two ways of accessing the TTC. Please follow the instructions below.
If you have an appointment booked
Your clinician has decided that you need a follow up assessment and treatment in the Therapy Trauma Clinic. If you are unable to attend your clinic appointment or you wish to change or cancel your appointment, please do so by telephoning the Therapy Trauma Clinic 01772 522 876
If you have an opt-in appointment
Your injury should resolve with time if you follow the advice given. If your injury fails to improve or you have any on-going concerns please contact the Therapy Trauma Clinic to arrange a follow up appointment.
You have TWO WEEKS from your attendance date in the emergency department to contact for an appointment otherwise you will be discharged and be required to return to your GP.
When you ring please state you need an appointment in the Therapy Trauma Clinic (TTC).
