You have been treated with a Soft Knee Brace. The following information will help you use it correctly.
How to Manage Your Soft Knee Brace
- A soft knee brace can be used to support your knee after a minor injury
- It is advisable to wear the brace when you are moving around as needed and to take it off at rest
To remove the brace
- Undo both of the outer Velcro straps
- Then open the brace
- You should check your skin for any marks or pressure areas
To apply the brace
- Wrap the brace around your knee with the opening at the front over your kneecap, do up the Velcro (the hole to the back of knee)
- Then wrap the outer straps around your knee through the loop and do up the Velcro
- Make sure you can still fit one finger between the brace and your leg
- You should still be able to bend and straighten your knee whilst wearing this
If you experience any swelling pins and needles or changes in sensation, remove the brace and seek medical advice.
