You have been treated for a Lower Limb Injury. You have been thoroughly examined and are now considered fit to be discharged. The following will aid your recovery.
Care Instructions for Lower Limb Injury
A wool and crepe bandage has been applied to your lower limb injury and must be worn until swelling/pain has resolved or for as long as advised by the doctor/nurse.
Instructions:
- If your toes become swollen, blue, white, numb, or cold or you experience ‘pins and needles’, the bandage must be removed. Seek medical advice if the symptoms persist.
- Rest and elevate the leg and apply ice pack (bag of frozen peas) for 24 hours after the injury.
- When walking, bend your knee and use a heel to toe action, as demonstrated by the nurse, to avoid limping.
