Liaison Psychiatry Self Harm Service.

You have been treated for Self Harm. You have had a thorough examination and are now considered fit to be discharged. The following instructions will aid your recovery.

Liaison Psychiatry Self Harm Service

An initial meeting to clarify the kind of support that could be most helpful, for example, anti-depressants and talking therapies.
The team offer’s assessment and four sessions of brief therapy, with the aim to understand and address the issues that are currently contributing to your distress.
It is a space and time for you to talk about yourself and your difficulties with someone who will not judge you.
This will include the possibility of finding new ways of trying to manage such difficult feelings.

The benefits are that we will:

Listen carefully and take your feelings seriously.
Try to understand and help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings. These could be about events that are happening now or experiences from your past.

Provide an instant cure
Read your mind
Tell you what to do

Four sessions of therapy
Based at a clinic at Arrowe Park hospital

A free and confidential service provided by the NHS
